Edinburgh is quite pretty as well - enjoy
Still very much enjoying the warm UK summer. We had some fog & rain yesterday while travelling but it didn't effect the trip. The tour bus driver is pretty good driving roads barely wider enough for 2 cars. The green of the country side just keeps coming. Never enough time to stop and wander with so much to see. The 2 days in Edinburgh wasn't enough; the castle was magnificent. The Royal Yacht was WOW. I didn't find a Dalgleish tartan. We drove through Greta Green, Chester & Wrexham; so yesterday was breaky in Scotland, lunch in England & tea in Wales. Cheers crowie
Glad you are enjoying yourself Pete ,So much to see & so little time to see it ,never mind you will just have to go back one day & see what you have missed & good luck to the kids.
Cheers Peter.
Just caught up with this sight seeing tour. :2tsup:
Come on Peter this thread is a week old and :worthless:
The photos are on the new camera some 2500 so far but the thread is on my photo when we're on the tour bus. We were at Stratford upon Avon this morning and now at Cotswold. The bus time is long and the visit times are short though the weather is great. Cheers Peter
We have been several times (SWMBO still has cousins there) and there are many places we have still not seen. On one occasion we were staying in Womborne, just south of Wolverhampton, and decided to go to Chester for the day. We saw a sign to Much Wenlock and detoured to have a look - we still have not been to Chester.
When you go again, I suggest you hire a campervan or a car and just potter from place to place using B & B's. Driving is relatively easy once you get the hang of the large roundabouts. The bus tours hardly touch the surface but at least give a feel for the place and how it works,
Continue to enjoy the experience.
Sounds like your having a great time of it me old china!
"ENJOY" :2tsup:
Cheers
Trev.
Certainly is a whirlwind tour Peter. Look forward to your pics when you get chance
Whirlwind is right Derek. When to Bath and Stonehenge today. Back on the bus returning to Novetel West London. Still a fair bit of traffic though well behaved with speed cameras every 5mins on both highways & country roads. I've noticed that there are so many different makes and models of car plus left hand drive including some trucks. We have 3 nights in London before we head to Helsinki. Cheers. Peter
We got to the hotel about 3:30pm, up to the room then off on the London Underground with some of our fellow travellers (10). The first stop was Westminster Abbey were we sat in on the end of a service and also looked & marvelled at the magnificence of the inside of the building. We then headed for the London Eye getting a 7pm trip and WOW what a view all around the city. Tea was in a London Pub; good old London bangers, mash & gravy; fine fair. The sunset when finished tea was pretty good over back of the buildings across the river. The return to the hotel on the underground was easy though the train was quite busy for 10:30pm. We'll have a little sleep in tomorrow before breakfast, good-byes and a hotel change for us; right in the middle of London. Hopefully I'll got use of Tracey's laptop in the next days or two so I can add some photos off the camera. Hope you're keeping warm. Cheers Peter
What's the beer like ??:D
