As we walked around today there were lots of police with automatic weapons along with what seemed extra police.
Today we went to the London Dungeon attraction near the London Eye.
We then walked walked from St Thomas Hospital to Buckingham Palace and on to Harrods at Knightsbridge. After that marathon it was the London Underground to Waterloo returning to the hotel to rest our very sore feet.
Tomorrow we leave for Helsinki before 6:30am.
Cheers Peter
Did you not have afternoon tea with our Lizzy then Peter:yippee:. That was a nice 2 1/2 mile walk then, did you keep your wallet closed in Harrods
G'day Derek, Lizzy as you call Her, is up at Balmoral so I missed out on tea & scones with Her.
We did see a police motorbike convoy with whom we were told was the British Prime Minister; boy, the bike riders were crazy fast & the sirens also did a high pitched whistle as they approached us.
Harrods was a lesson in opulence and heavy prices; even a milk shake was 12:95 pound; that's about 30 Aussie Dollars....WOW!!!
Taking about money; the car to Heathrow in the morning is 75Pound....OUCH!!!!
London cabs are a rip off !
YES, but with London Underground potentially on strict on Wednesday & Thursday, it's the safest way to ensure we make our flight.
As a side issue, the city traffic here is nuts; too much of it, bikes, scooters, bicycles, cars, taxis, buses, trucks and vans all competing for the road so as you can imagine it's quite noisy.
The question is ... did you have a milk shakenand was it worth the price of 30 Litres of milk
Hope your next leg of the trio goes well. Keep safe and have fun

You are getting about Peter.
Just thnk this is what those with the $$$$ and those who wish Sydney to become like the capitals of the world. Over priced, over populated, over taxed, its to keep the low lifes out trouble is they need us to do the work they will not.:;
Pete,
Safe trip to Helsinki
Keith
Goodbye London Town. What a rushed visit; too much to see and not enough time. The worst of the trip was I didn't find any handcrafted wooden toy stores.
The flight was mostly in the clouds and only a little over 3hrs but no complementry in flight meal, just water, juice or a cuppa.
The Helsinki Airport Hilton is a pretty fancy hotel 3mins walk from the airport arrivals.
We bought some food in the airport supermarket for tea as hotel restaurant was a bit pricey.
We meet the Australian teams in the airport arrivals at 8:30am for transfer to a training camp about an hour north in a sports academy; I just have to watch & video.
Cheers Crowie
Glad to hear you have made the next leg safely. As I have said before hope you all do well and have a great time while you are there.
