Heading south from Greta Green we headed west at Penrith....
Heading south from Greta Green we headed west at Penrith....
YES, it caught me by surprize as we have a Penrith at the bottom of the Blue Mountains....
More beautiful country side and farm houses as we turned off the motorway to a minor road again....
The time sitting in the bus was so much better with some country scenery rather than large earthen banks lined with trees on the motorways...

Adelaide had pay toilets when I was a kid. I remember them.
Love the carving

From Grasmere it was onto Chester in Wales
From Grasmere it was onto Chester in Wales for an all to brief walking tour in the drizzle.....only 2-2.5hrs.....
The old city wall, Roman ruins and Tudor building along with the home of Charles Wesley.....
BUT with sure a very short stop plus the light rain, it made it difficult to have a good look around....
Just snap as many photos as one could while the tour guide pointed out the historical parts of the city....
And back on the bus, but oh, only of course, after a "pitstop" in the free toilets.....something the tour guide was always able to assist with were available.........

That is the only problem with coach trips not enough time to stop and look. We went on a coach tour of Germany and went out daily from a central hotel even though they where to two places a day there was never enough time to see everything you would have liked to.
I love the old timber framed building they have so much character luckily for me I can just go into town and see some if I wanted.

Looks good Peter and brings back memories the last picture of the canal barges that is I spent 2 weeks on one very much like the green on in the middle that was 72ft long. jumping off and operating the locks while my late departed father steered it in(I was the fitter one then). I also spent quite a bit of time either steering or fishing when we were moored up. So peaceful no rushing about as it was a nice slow steady pace.
