    Default Toymaker Police Boat

I made a police boat for my oldest son Nick using toymaker plans. It is made of pine. I plan on painting it blue.

Layout, holes drilled, and roundovers on top and bottom

I got so busy trying to finish in time that I forgot to take anymore in progress pics. Here it is completed.

Threre are several more boats in the book I plan on building. And once it is painted I am eager to see if it floats.

Well if that doesn't float your boat indeed.
    Well done Bret.
Nick will be very pleased with his new boat to captain around the bath-tub.

Fantastic to see this, thank you for sharing.

It should float the mass is displaced across the bottom.

Thank you guys. Nick wanted to put it in the bathtub last night but I wouldn't let him. I was afraid it would take forever to dry and I would have had to resand it. I plan on painting it tonight when I get off work.

    Another nice one.

It will most certainly float. (It's made of Pine.) Which way up is the real question.
    (It'll float right-way-up, I reckon.)

Unless you put it in the water upside down

    Hi Bret
Great Boat and nice and simple as well.Love it.
Drill a couple of holes in bottom and glue some bolts in them (cut the heads off first) It will compensate for above deck cabin and funnel etc.

Thanks Aussie. I was thinking of drilling some holes in the bottom putting washers in and then covering it with a wooden plug.

Hello John yes it did float. It road prettly low in the water though. Well below the water line.

I thought it would float higher, unlike some hardwoods, being Pine.
Some hardwoods are heavier than water, I discovered. (Didn't know that before.)
When ebonising the other week, the Blackbutt sank to the bottom.
