Toymaker T-rex
I made this T-rex for youngest son Ryan today. It still needs to be painted but he couldn't wait to play with it.
I made it out of pine. The main body is 1" thick and the arms and legs are 1/2". I added 3/8" dowels through the legs for extra strength.
I layed out with fullsize templates. Drilled all the holes before cutting out.

I plan on painting him green.

I just love the eyebrows for the frown effect!

Thanks for the comments guys. Crowie I flipped through the whole book with Ryan and asked him if there were any other animals he wanted and he said no just Trex. I possibly might make him another one so they can fight each other. By the way he has already broken an arm off and broke both tips of the feet off, so I will have to do some repair. On the legs I will probably add a piece on both sides with the grain running in the other direction to see if that can withstand Ryan. Of course that is if I can get it away from him. He slept with it last night I guess he likes it!
