Toys at markets in Kyoto Japan
We are traveling in Japan & I just had to share photos of some of the better stalls we saw today.
The doll's furniture was truly intricate.
I have an idea that the robots were cut on a CNC machine. They come with a spanner & screwdriver so they can be taken apart.
The blokes who made them are in the photos, unfortunately one looked down just as I took the pic.Cliff.
If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.

Cheers for the photos mate! Kyoto is a beautiful place, I was there several years ago but only got to spend a day there and then I was diagnosed with whooping cough so had to come home. Hope to get back there one day!

Thanks for sharing,
Great to see the tradition of making wooden toys is not totally lost in a land of high tech.
That is one country I'd love to visit if only for the magnificent woodwork and joinery.Handmade Wooden toys Sunshine Coast Queensland

There is a shop full of water stones right around the corner from where we are staying, all sorts, shapes, sizes, & grades. It is a little old thing that you wouldn't even know what it was unless you knew anything about sharpening tools.

If you're passing a Tokyu Hands store make the time to look inside.
Most of my water stones were purchased in Tokyu Hands ...regards from Alberta, Canada
