What's happened to all the toymakers??
What's happened to all the toymakers??
There seems to a lot on nothing happening around the toymaking section of the forum.
I hope everyone is all right!!
Or is a case on heads down & tails up, busy busy on the Christmas list projects??
I'm not one to talk too loudly though as I've been putting off my Christmas list as I've had some health issues dogging me.
Good news I have an order for a "garage"; plus I want to make a couple of "rubber band powered dragsters" for the grandsons for Christmas.
Anyway, Blokes & all you good looking Sheila's out there; what have you been up to????
Cheers, crowie

Yes Crowie quite a bit but luckily all small items except 1. They are
4 money boxes
1 toy box
1 clock
2 sets of jewelry
1 Pr candle sticks
1 item turned from wood design to be left to me
1 carved door number
1 set salt and pepper grinders
Most of the above are work in progress and a couple yet to start, so not alot to do
Mind you I am getting a collection of small bits of wood for making some toys when the list is finished

The Rolls is on the back burner for a while, during the school holidays we had the two eldest grand kids , for recovery we had a week away.
Back home I had orders for some boxes, completed them and started to work on the Rolls , now have an order for a piece of furniture which will take me a week or two.
regards John.

Finger's pretty much all healed up. Most spare daylight hours are going into tidying up the overgrown winter garden, and this weekend will see me purchasing, carting, then laying decking boards. But I will endeavour to make a start on the front guards of the Beetle after dark...

Hello Crowie,
As you know I have a new toy that has taken presedence for the time being. Along with the Holiday starting here in the states I have been working close to 60 hours a week. And when I get home the Misses goes to work. So my free time is spent with the boys. My poor workshop is just sitting waiting for me to come out and make sawdust.
1964 C10 Stepside I inherited from my late Father in Law.
I rebuilt the carb, put a new ignition on, changed all the fluids. Cleaned the fuel lines and it started on the first try!.
Here are some pics of the carb before and aft.

Here is my build thread for the truck if you want to follow along. 1964 Chevy Stepside (Old Blue) - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network
I also acquired all these cabinets from work for free. They used to have bulk coffee bins on top. They are all made from Cabinet grade birch plywood. I plan on chopping them up and making my own cabinets out of them at some point.

Well thats my excuse

I am very busy at work, christmas is our most important time, and we are stepping up production.
On top of that I am busy installing heating in my little workingspace to survive winter.
Not a lot of toymaking going on, although I have finished a parrot, which I will post seperately.

Hard at it as well.
Greetings from Cooroy on the Sunshine Coast.
I've been away from the work shop for the past year. I've had a few minor health problems.
Over the past few of weeks I've been busy making toys again for sale at the Cooroora Woodworkers Club in Cooroy Qld. I've had a few good sales already.
Attached are a few pics of the latest batch of toys on display at the club house.

Hi Crowie,
I am still here. I have orders for 12 trucks, 4 bulldozers, 3 steam rollers and a caterpillar mining truck all required by Christmas. Am about halfway there. Will post a WIP of the caterpillar truck soon.
