Default Whats a good natural finish?

Hi all, just wondering what you consider the best natural non-toxic options for finishing kids indoor play furniture made of radiata pine. Is beeswax or an oil like linseed oil durable enough? How often would it need re-doing?

    Thanks!!

Bees wax and linseed oil are fine but do need redoing regularly. I cant see whats wrong with a water based polyurethane(varnish) for the furniture.
