    Default Wooden Doll's Prams

I mentioned a few day ago in the Welcome Wagon section that I'd post a picture of some doll's prams I made for some of our friends that have little girls. Definitely not as sophisticated as some of the amazing toys I've seen posted here, but I was reasonably happy with them.

    Thanks for looking

Great little design. Very robust to withstand all the play. I like the idea of the o'rings on the wheels to give them a bit of cushion and grip.

They don't need to be complicated, just something to play with. These two prams are a nice design and look well built

Thanks very much for the great feedback everyone. It's really encouraging.

I made a little video of the build so the friends we gave the prams to could see how they were built.

Definitely no woodwork best practice here, but our friends liked it (or claim to have! )

    Happy Easter all

The video was superb Bob, the amount of detail was great and the way you built the prams was quite ingenious...

    Very well done, indeed...cheers crowie..

    PS:
One encouragement for the next built, use a flat washer on the axle between the wheel & the body for ease of movement.

Thank you very much gents There's something pretty cool about the idea that a child might get some joy out of something that you build. I really enjoyed doing it.

Crowie, Great tip: very interested because I tried to make some washers out of ~1.5 mm clear polycarbonate to reduce friction between the body of the pram and the wheel, but I was not so happy with them. What kind of washers have worked well for you?

    Thanks!

    G'Day Bob,
I use either nylon or stainless steel from the local nut&bolt engineering supplier....
I buy a small bulk pack to ensure I get the items at a reasonable price and then the packs last for yonks, easy...
The polycarbonate isn't a very slippery plastic...
    I hope that helps...
Keep up the toymaking, as you said, the reward is in the smile saying the children are having fun with something you made....
    Cheers, crowie
