Really not that bad just cut the parts to the picture and test test test, till every thing slides smooth as butter.
The one thing I did different was make the dowel for the key guide smaller so I would have more room for a fatter stronger key body.
Truly is a fun one day build and half of that day was watching all the YouTube I could find on the project.

Looks like a good way to spend a winters day

Winter It's near 100f in my neck of the woods mate. LOL
Been a great time to be in my small air conditioned shed, even then the heat chases me out around 2.

My my Bruce, The gates must be huge for that lock BUT it should surely secure them!!

Looking at the drawings just makes me wonder. Why did the U.S never convert to metric?. Imperial measurements are horrid to work to in comparison.

6 of one and a half dozen or the other.
A lot has to do with what you got used to from school as a footer [us] from birth I can use metric and at times find it much better but I can see and feel a foot long in the dark where as I have to think to us the metric.
