Animals Puzzle. (Not a Pink Floyd question)
I saw a photo of this online a few weeks ago and liked it, so made a copy.
Got it finished just in time (for Xmas).

Animals Jigsaw Puzzle Plan
Here's the plan, Steve. (You'll need to scale it to the size you need. It's currently about double size.):

I put a frame around mine, but the original was in a box:
(I also rounded all edges with a 1/4" roundover bit so that in the frame, the animals' shapes were clearly defined.)

Love the parrot, Digger. For a second scroll-saw project, I'm not sure how cleanly I can get those tight curves, but I'll give it a go when I have some time.
Still, with the animal puzzle, it wasn't the curves but the dead straight lines for the frame's border that were hardest.
There's another type of puzzle I'd like to make too, but can't work out how. I've been looking but can't find the perfect router bit for the ball channels. A bowl carving bit comes to mind, but it wouldn't leave the overhang to keep the balls in place.
This one:

and a variation:

and a third version:

Has anyone come across the plans for these anywhere?
bosox, thanks for the feedback, it's appreciated.

There is a ball router bit (see picture) that would do what you want but you will need to use a straight cutter first to allow for the shaft.
You may find someone closer to yourself for a bit the same

Perfect. Thank you very much for that, Digger.
Having a name for the bit helps - 'ball router bit', I should have thought of it.
I'll do a bit of a search and see if there's something local.
Do you have the name of the supplier in the attachment? (Just in case.)
I've already been through the Carbatec and Rockler catalogues without success.
It's OK, I found them during my search - Titmans, here: Titman Tip Tools :: The best in router tooling, Products and applications for the woodworking industry
