    Default Wooden Toy Bus

    Hi All,

I recently had a request to make a Bus for a little boy who was totally enthralled by Busses. So I thought you might like to see some of the photos.

Most of the photos are just of the plain stain before varnish except for the last couple.

The timber is environmentally friendly and carbon neutral plantation pine. The trim was done with Pine. The wheels were made out of Pine with Pine inserts. Actually quiet a few of my overseas customers can't get Pine and are quiet fascinated that we use so much of it.

The Bus has access through the roof so the little boy can play with it, this coupled with the large windows gives it quiet a bit of playability inside.

I used my standard 2 piece wheels that I use on most of my trucks.

The idea for this was taken from a Scania which had dual rear wheels, so it probably was a coach.

The external exhaust was my idea just because little kids like them.

    That;s one fancy bus, Phil.
A nice amount of detail, robust enough for the rough & tumble world of play; well done.
    Cheers, crowie

Very Cool. I like the exhaust and the vents on the side for the engine.

    bus indeed

LOL its a Coach recliner style seats, dual axle rear end, saloon door and luggage bins, you don't get those on buses.

Even looks the like the Denning style Scania

    Nice work well done

Pretty cool,,i have one question though..I glue all pieces of mine..No screws or nails..Is there an advantage to assembling with screws?

    Default plans for bus/coach

    G'day Brian,
Yes I intend to rip out the middle and convert it into a winnabago and head off around Australia.
OK OK I will have plans for the coach in a couple of weeks but it will be longer than that one because it was built to a specific size. The plans will be available on the link below.

    Hi Fozzy,
I screw everything I make for two reasons 1/ I like the tuff look. 2/ it is instant no waiting. Like yesterday afternoon I made a cradle. Cut it out, sanded it, glued and screwed it together, stained ,laquered put it in a box and the courier picked it up to take it to it's home 1000kms(600mls) away(still in Queensland) Gotta tell u though sometimes I do set myself some tight scedlules but what the heck.

    Phil
