Default Fathers Day "Guessing Competition" prize

    Fathers Day "Guessing Competition" prize.....

Yes another "Peter Bilt" truck for the Boys & Girls Club fund raiser...

I think it looks like and older style Mercedes Bull Nose Tipper.....

Handy was in such a state after telling him the concrete trucks were on hold that it took all my powers of persuasion to get him to assist me.

    Cheers, Peter.

PS - The front [engine] was the part i was making when the bobbin sander broke....

No wonder Handy was in such a state when you broke one of his machines building this one and not working on the concrete trucks

Looks like another good build Peter.

Default Handy's much happier now as he realized we have four trucks on the go at once....

Handy's much happier now as he realized we have four trucks on the go at once....

I spent a heap of time on the truck on Saturday afternoon, Sunday and again today; in spite of the rush build she's coming together....

    I going to try to put an arm under the tipper back but having little idea as to how to get it right plus short on time to get the truck finished;
the wheels are all that's left to complete...

Default Nearly finished - Just another couple of coats of clear to go!!

Nearly finished - Just another couple of coats of clear to go!!

Handy's pretty chuffed with himself as we built this truck in something like 12hours.

Bit rushed and didn't get to add a tipper life mechanism as Peter had no idea as to how to make one work.

YES, he'd appreciate some ideas and know-how if anyone can help for the future, thank you!

The back of the truck is to filled with a whole heap of goods for folk to guess the quantity, and if your guess is correct you'll win the truck & the goodies.

    Cheers Peter

    PS - Some build info......

The rear hinge pivot is 5/16" or 8mm Tassie Oak dowel...
The tail gate hinge pivot is 1/4" or 6.5mm Tassie Oak dowel with a 1/8" lock dowel...
The headlights & taillights are furniture plugs....
The wheel are 2" or 50mm shop bought American Oak wheels...

    Great work.
What to put in the back - how about "100's & 1000's". It should take all day to count them.

As for the hoist mechanism I was thinking of a dowel inside either a hollowed out dowel or perhaps a metal tube of some sort. Probably too late for this build though.

Sorry Christos, The lollies and other goodies are being purchased today for the filling of the tipper back....

I'll ensure I post some photos of the truck with its load of goodies...

There will be a ticketed guess but of course some coins have to go in the can first [hint]!!!
