G'day, just a passing spot of interest ~ we all like to see pics of the other guys work right?. I wouldn't call myself a true woodworker, as most of you would be horrified to see my methods, tools ( and work bench) I haven't had the opportunity to do much for a number of years thanks to life obstacles etc. Anyway these few pages of pics are the remnants of some of work work my dad and I did way back. A little bit of everything went into this work, joining, turning, carving etc. *Aviation enthusiasts will probably re-call the solid wooden recognition models of the WWII era, these are my hillbilly version of them..

    Keep those fingers safe!!
    cheers.

Don't envy your winters but you live in a beautiful part of the country.

    Hey Brett,
Im not into planes but I really like those tiger moths, beautiful.
I have a couple of the black recognition models you mentioned, somewhere.
I dont think they are wooden, they seem more like bakelite or some similar hard artificial material.

artme ~ Thanks mate. Yep she's not a bad place at all. I wasn't born and bread here, so the first few winters were quite the shock for a dumb a*** city boy. The first one turned some of my wimpy coastal pot plants to mush. ( poor bloody things, I should have left them behind)

forunna ~ thanks mate! We built more Tigermoth's than any of the others. Its a little odd, you'd think the fighters etc. would have topped the list. I guess a lot of older aussie aviators got their wing in Tigers ( sentimental value) Hang onto your recognition models, their probably worth a few bob by now. Sadly we weren't as diligent as some other countries in preserving our aviation heritage, so those sort of things seem very few and far between these days ~ a lot of collectors/museums are always on the hunt for them.

    cheers
    NURSE!!!!
