    Default G'day All

G'day, I'm Ant and love working with wood,

A Horticultulist by trade - I've been a proffesional grower of plants for a large wholesale nursery for 10years now, I love all plants - Especially native trees.
I like nothing more than the character wood offers to any piece of funiture. A nice rich grain adds so much personallity.

I started restoring old wooden funiture because in my area people throw out the best stuff just to go for that plain boring modern look of mdf and lamiate, or even worse plastic - yuck.
Then i moved on to making my own items, started with what i needed of custom size and shape to fit where I wanted them.
Is it just me or does funiture these days come in sizes too big or too small?
Now I just make things because I can, and to me something you've made is an asset to be proud off - anyone can build a flatpack prefab item.
More recently I started woodturning. Only new at turning, I have a lot to learn and many hours of practice ahead of me - but we all have to start somewhere, right.

I will have to go though some of my work and post some photo's for you guys, would love to hear your opinions of what I have made.

I think this forum site is brillant - have picked up a few tips and this is just my first day. Look forward to learning a lot more and sharing ideas
    Thanks guys
    Ant
