    Default Gday....FINALLY!!

    Hi,

I have a very tolerant partner... A heavily (35 week) pregnant partner. Who, with tremendous grace has recently supported me spending a couple of grand on getting the bones of a hobby workshop setup up.

Im determined to reward this unusually timed faith in me by creating lots of lovely things.......eventually.

So hi to everyone and a big thanks in advance to all the old heads that i will no doubt badger for help!!

    Regards
    Manny

    Welcome Manny.

From your introduction you have already been
creating something special. Hope the little one
    arrives safe and well.

    Best wishes to your family.

    G'Day & Welcome Manny,
You'll be needing nursery items then lots of toys for the new arrival.
There are a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo especially WIP photos & build notes.
OPPS, I'd best clarify that just the end results with the families new arrival and lots of shed photos too.
    Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy the new arrival & look after that "other half" after the shed donation.
    Cheers, crowie

    Thanks guys.

A bit of background on what brings me here....

I completed a wood machining apprenticeship in my early/mid 20's, worked for a couple of small furniture manufacturers making very basic stuff but both went belly up. So for the last 7 years or so ive been making cardboard boxes. A little soul destroying so im feeling long overdue to get back doing something i know i enjoy, even if just as a hobby.

Im ok with my hands but not very knowledable, never really turned or used fancy joining techniques before. So ill probably start with some very basic projects and teach myself the tricky stuff along the way. I also dont know how great ill be at the WIP side of things but if i can take the odd photo here and there then i will. I do have a lathe and little combination machine that i just bought that i will need to clean up before i start so i might start a thread on those, perhaps include it all in a "shed setup" thread to keep everything in one place. Or is it best to have several threads? Which is best?

    Manny
