Default G'day from Gold Coast Hinterland

    G'day folks,

moved house recently onto acreage and finally have the big shed I've always wanted for all my projects
Have only done basic woodworking before (putting beehives together, repairs etc) but I'd love to make some of my own furniture in the future like some bookshelves or something not too complex to start with.

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Farmer TH".
There are a stack of members in on the Gold Coast, in Brisbane & across S.E. Queensland plus the rest of the world.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
    Enjoy the forum.
    Enjoy your woodwork......
    Cheers crowie

    G'day to you too.

Yeah, living on a farm definitely has its advantages in terms of elbow room and scope to spread out.
It's funny though how all those sheds and barns end up getting filled up with stuff {grins}.

We're currently hoping to downsize from 750 acres to 12 1/2. Only thing needed is a buyer for the big(er)
    place.

Bookshelves can be easy ... I actually like the Ikea style ladder system. Couple of thousand books on them right now ...
my wife however wants bookcases with glass doors and backs in them {shudders with dread}.

Not until we have a house with a concrete floor, I say! Old farmhouses don't have level floors.

    best -P.

I'm glad to hear that bookshelves are easy as my woodworking experience is very little
We are in an old Queenslander house so not much is level in our place either!
