Thread: G'day from the hills

That shed is 12 x 8 m, and of course too small

For the last two years it has been crammed full of junk we've collected over a lifetime, but slowly and surely the backlog is being cleared so I've got space for a workshop.

Joining the forum is a sign that things are getting close. Still some sifting and sorting, some lining work in the shed to make it possible to be there in our cold and damp winters, and then kitting it out with some decent tools

The one decent tool I own is one of the big Vicmarc lathes. Have done lots of woodturning over the past 20 years, but now looking to kit up for furniture making and cabinetry.

Hi there fellow hills inhabitant! I currently have the rentals problem, with a car port very makshift workshop. I tell myself I like fresh air.

You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgable blokes & ladies on the forum, all willing to help.
Congratulations on the shed but it's empty....lol.
With an acre you could easily build an annex on the side of that small shed for extra space.
I wish I was so fortuniate.

Great looking shed. of course there is never enough room no matter how large. you will have fun filling that up with goodies. Oh and welcome to the forum.

I've included a 'now' photo of the shed. Everywhere you look in it at the moment it is about as crammed and chaotic. There is a coherent plan but it's like a sliding jigsaw puzzle. I tell myself eventually the sliding puzzle will fall into shape and then it'll be a place I actually make nice things in

The prob is I can't get near the sawdust machine(s)

That's a big space for storage. Now you only have to convert it to usable storage. Welcome to the forum.

I've been busy sorting, sifting and shuffling great piles of stuff in an effort to store things properly. I'm working up until Sunday but then get some time to keep at it. A rack of industrial shelving arrived early in the week so I've been sneaking out early to grab a few extra minutes here and there.

And I think it might now be coming together.

The workshop area will be 8x8 metres but this includes an area for storing long timber and boards. I promise to post some pics when I get half a chance
