G'day All from a lost Canadian...
I just dropped in to see what's goin on down under.
I have been wood turning for the last 10 years or so and I always like to see what others are doing. Don't have access to much yet so I don't have a signature set up yet.
Hope to visit often to keep a thumb on the pulse down under.
Later
Syd

G'Day, Welcome "to the Great South Land" & to a top forum "Syd".
We have a few "canucks" on the forum; all trying to escape the cold..lol...
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork/turning.
Cheers from On Top DownUnder, crowie

Thanks for all the kind words, I will do my best to show you what I do and what I make. You will have to clue me in on WIP?? We Canadians my not understand all these little Aussi terms. If it's what I think it is, let me see if I can get this great board of your to accept what I want to show....
Trying to stay warm this AM, -15 here right now so I need to through another log on the fire...DSC01493.jpg
I had to make my own hollower system so I did a copy of the Monster system.. By the way, it works very well, I highly recommend it. If you would like to see how I made it have a look at this link

G'Day Syd,
Firstly "WIP" is Work In Progress, normally a series of photos that show the process or maybe the problem/issue with some notes or questions... the old adage of a picture speaks a thousand words.
On the cold front, I have a "canuck" friend in Toronto who told me she had 1.5mtr of snow the day after Christmas & it was followed up 3 days later with another 0.5mtr; fortunately her son-in-law came to dig her out.
We would always joke on the phone about what I thought was cold, 5deg"c" and she would say wow that'd be a warm day here.....lol.
Beaut lot of vases in your photo, lovely timber grain & colour.
Sorry I'm not a turner, I'm a would be toymaker.
Enjoy the forum, keep warm,
cheers, crowie
