G'day from Maryborough Victoria
Hello everyone,
with the covid-19 situation i've been working through a list of 30 projects/jobs that need to be done.
a mobile kitchen island with room for the 2 plastic bins (dog food and cat food) is one of the jobs i'm doing, on Friday 1st May i ordered and had delivered 12 metres of 25mm tube steel, the bins will be on sliding trays that come out each end, and i thought a nice redgum butchers block would look good on top, with a slide out drawer just below (and over the bins).
i have some very old redgum posts stacked down the shed that i have been reluctant to chop up for firewood, and once i run then through the 10inch table saw i think they will make a nice end grain butchers block.
i like BIG dogs, hence the 20kg bins for dry dog food, which have been in the way in the kitchen for far too long now, my new pup is a wolfhound,staghound/deerhound, 6 months and about 30kg already.
i'm not new to woodworking, i attended Caulfield Technical School from 1980 to 1984, i occasionally worked with an older brother who was a chippy, and have lost count of the number of wood working projects i've done over the years, i was number 10 of 14 kids, so got a good all round educations in plumbing, building, electronics etc.
my first ever project was a chess board in grade 6 (1979), for which i was given a fancy (plastic) chess set for christmas, sadly minus the cardboard chess board, the pieces are just a bit too big for the board, so that's another project that is 40 years past time to get around too.
i found the forum looking for what glue to use on a cutting board.
regards
Amanda

Welcome Amanda.
The glue of preference that I use for cutting boards is Titebond 3.

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Amanda".
There are quite a stack members around Melbourne and cross Victoria plus the rest of the country.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
