    Default G'day from Northern NSW

Hi all. I'm Rob and I'm from Northern NSW. I joined the Forum last year but had nothing to say so didn't post. I still don't know if I have much to contribute, probably just asking obscure questions.

I'm a retired old fart who likes to "play" with my Nova Comet II Midi lathe, with "play" being the key word. I bought the lathe second hand and for what I do, it's ideal. The last time I used a lathe would have been maybe 1965.

So far I've managed a few small bowls as well as timber and resin "constructions". I don't know what is the harder to master the timber or the resin! But either way, it sure is enjoyable.

This Forum is immense. The amount of information stored within is immense. I've already had difficulty in later relocating information I had already found. My memory is not now immense.

    And for now, that's me.

    Cheers and regards
    Rob (waltz)

    G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Rob" .....
There are quite a few members on the NSW North Coast with a stack members around Brisbane and cross South East Queensland plus the rest of the country.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.

Welcome mate. I've just made the long journey north from Canberra to South of Coffs Harbour. Just finished coating all my machines with rust prevention spray and put them into storage until I can get A workshop again. I have an old woodfast lathe also and looking to do more turning

Certainly lots of timber up here, was given a few logs couple iron bark and couple tallowood. Loving the change of weather and pace.

Plenty of topics to be immersed in on the forum
    Wealth of knowledge. Welcome

    Cheers
    Nathan
