    Default G'Day from Vancouver, Canada

It's a beautiful day here on the 'Left Coast'. Wife's out doin' her 'gardening thing', the dogs are chasing their latest toy around, the kids are off to school and I'm here typing madly on the keyboard.

My interest in woodworking is secondary... Let me explain.

I design new board games, I re-design old board games and so on...

I'm actually looking for someone who can design and create some simple chess pawn-type pieces (well, more like 'Bishops', 'Queens'...) that have a few necessary dimensions. I'm willing to pay for quality work.

I'm going to spend some time now and peruse the various threads on all the forums.

    Welcome ,mate.
I'm from Indonesia. Interesting to know that you want to make chess sets. In my spare time I hand carved small chess set ( just for my own collection ) for my son . I want to make old Greek soldiers carvings in casted pewter , antique finished chess set. May be I can help you out with the wood sets if the quantity is good enough. I happens to have plenty stocks of timber and copier turning machine from China in my factory. Come over at Timber forum. I have few of my giant Hibiscus tree & timber pictures.

    Default Yes , I'm interested.

    G'day SDK ,

Please open my blog to find my e m@il address. Yes , I'm interested to do it. I can work with synthetic ivory , natural stones , gemstones , wood , metal inlaid wood , wood and combined things.

I've received your PM , and lost my long typing reply to you while sending back reply , so I send again using this forum. Sorry.

These are some pictures of my old work when I designed and made handmade samples development & manufacturing for Palliser ( Manitoba ), Kanora from LaZ-Boys , and another private buyer. This is 5 - 6 years ago. Now that furniture market is collapsed , I just relax with my plantations , nursery , fishfarm ( & furniture factory that I want to close down ).

    Best regards,

    Rudy

    Thumbs up

G'day SDK and welcome to our patch of cyber heaven.

Mike Darlow wrote an interesting book on turned chess pieces. He is well known in turning circles and also has wonderful instructional books and videos.
