Default gidday, im billy, timber toys are my thing

Gidday all, I'm Billy, new to the site. I live in Gods own paradise ( Central Coast, NSW ), and I'm a firie in Sydney. I love working with wood. Set up the garage with a Triton saw bench and router set up, I've got a drill press, sanders, drills etc, scroll saw ( haven't used that yet ) and I've been making piles of sawdust. Great fun! I used to make timber cars years ago for the nephews and mates kids and I've decided to get back into it. I've made some from recycled oregon that I got from A Passion 4 Wood in Forster NSW at a very good price ( see his ad's on eBay ). 123 lineal metres of 4 x 2 for $60. after denailing probably only threw out less than 5 meters and they went into the fire so not wasted. I've stuck 3 cars on eBay to see if theres a market out there for them and I'll be doing the Entrance markets on Sundays up til Christmas. Also doing some tip trucks, flat bed trucks and bulldozers, loosely based on plans from a book by Blizzard, I love his use of contrasting timbers rather than painting. I got plans and kit for the small bulldozer from Toys and Joys and when I've got the right timber I'll start on that. Look forward to seeing stuff like Aussies car come out of my garage.

Hi Billy and welcome, sure you'll have hours of fun on the forum with the rest of us. THe only thing better than woodwork is talking about it. Toys are great fun to make, my kids are too big for toys now but I guess in a few years I'll be building them again for grandkids. Planes, trains and automobiles. Enjoy.
