    Default Greeting from windy Ballarat

    Hi everyone from Ballarat, Victoria.

I made a bit of furniture growing up but then life got in the way (work, kids, no space, no time etc) so I never really progressed with woodworking. I’m now in a position where I have some space (7m x 5m garage with mezzanine) and a bit more time to allocate and a bit more money to buy some toys.

I’ve just found this forum a few days ago and it has already saved me from making a few mistakes before I’ve really even started.

I’m really looking forward to learning as much as I can from the wealth of knowledge in here. Not just so I can make some fancy things to try and justify the time/money/space to the wife, but to one day give back and share knowledge with you all, and my two boys.

Make sure you keep an eye out for the Ballarat Wood Show. Not sure what impact Covid has had on it, but in the past it’s been a good showcase of local talent, good opportunity to get some ideas and to network.
Now proudly sponsored by Binford Tools. Be sure to check out the Binford 6100 - available now at any good tool retailer.

Thanks for the tip. Searching for that led me to find there’s a local woodworking guild to join!

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your future projects. I will be going through your town tomorrow on the way to Halls Gap for a bit of a break. Hopefully it might be a little less windy then
