Greetings to all woodworkers.
About time to make a contribution. Been raised a woodworker at age twelve in 1938.Born 21 5 1926 makes me an antique 95er.Looking forward to get a card from the Queen. I do not want a card from Charly. Because there has been a War and I was on the wrong Side Live did often not go as planed. Came to Australia 1955 and now live near Maryborough North of Brisbane. I have a large well equipped Workshop all by myself. Over The Years collected g ood Quantity of rare Timber. I like to make periodic and traditional Furniture and recently interested in Barley Twist Creations. Because Nature has been somewhat rough on me I might have to pass onto someone else. Most People call me Ali some call me something Else. Happy Chipping to all of You.

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Ali".....
There are quite a good few members across South East Queensland with a stack of members around Brisbane plus the rest of the country.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork......
Cheers crowie

Good luck with your aim to get a card from HRH (the queen). Most of us probably have to wait a while longer than you for that. As a staunch republican I am hoping to hear from an Aussie head of state rather than some aristocratic head of a country that deported many of my ancestors.
I like your barley twist work and from your follow-up thread it looks like you are just a tiny bit obsessed with barley twists at present. I hope I can still be obsessed by a new technique when I am 95.
Keep i5 up and keep us posted on your new projects.

As You have assumed the top is Epoxy. Considering I am rather new to casting it worked out satisfactory. Cheers.

I always try.
If I created the Impression being a twisted woodworker that is not so. I am rather more interested in carving and replica work. Also creating some unusual Cases. cheers to You.
