    Smile Gudai to everyone!

    Finally getting around holding and working wood, metal and other materials for the joy of it, away from "doing the head" in stuff!

    I'd registered here some years ago but only just realized I'd never actually posted anything so here I am!

    I wonder if there's anyone here that can give me a heads-up on why I'm getting site access problems when trying to view other's attachments and even my own 'My Profile' & 'Settings'?

    Cheers

    Default Howdy Montyp

    Hi Montyp,

    Congratulations on your first (albeit belated) post. Welcome.

    In light of your forum woes, I think people tenuously linked through wires and radio signals are going to need a little more light shed on the situation. To that end:

    To help with attachments, please make sure you're logged in first (I've had that prob once or twice) since "guests" don't always have access to images on forums.... Also, if the picture was uploaded in say.. 2012, older multimedia files are often deleted, removed, or corrupted. To help with that...

    Could you please provide a particular link (or two) you to images/attachments that you find problematic? I and others can have a look from their end (because it might not be your system with the issue)

    Finally, what are you running? OS, Browser version, any wonderful ad blocking plugins/extensions that can sometimes flag/block files if they're stored in weird and wonderful ways that look like ads, or trackers, or other inconvenient code.

    I'm in the middle of renovations, so not a lot of time to spend on the forum of late, but if you respond, I'll see what I can do.

    Hope to see some fun projects!
    Hamish.

    Default Thanks 'harmo' and now: - "The Flood Gates have burst open!"

    @harmo
    Thanks for the welcome.

    I've just passed through the "wanting to buy big, wonderful and very expensive tools" phase and am settling into the "feeling and working the tool" phase of using motorless tools! It's proving to be fascinating and rewarding.

    @Mods & @Everyone Else!
    As a result of creating my first post, I've just found out that even if registered as a user (for some time!) with seemingly 'normalish' access to the forums, you're still in something more akin to 'guest' status with limited access - ie: not being able access attached pics etc.

    *** It would seem some user feedback/info is missing; ie: letting a new user know they need to post something (as I've just discovered!) before they actually obtain 'fully' registered status. - In retrospect, it's probably why I wandered off to other sites and only came back here (to a richer site!) after news of the Renovator's Forum return from whence it came - only to find I still couldn't access stuff.

    I probably missed some titbit of info somewhere along the line but perhaps the Mods could investigate whether something could be tweaked to make the need to post anything? more obvious for others?

    - Like new glasses, I'm now seeing things I've never seen before!!!

    Thanks for the great range of interests and stuff here!
