    Smile Hello!

I am a complete beginner when it comes to woodworking. In fact, I think the last bit of woodworking I did was one of those foot stools they make you build in Year 7.

Recently I came across Ana White and I am feeling very inspired! My partner is the complete opposite of a 'handy man', so I'm putting up my hand to take on the role.

My house is old and has poor storage, so my first goals will be to re-fit my wardrobes, and then work my way from room to room fixing things up (or, given my experience, probably making them worse requiring professional rescue). However, this doesn't discourage me lol.

So, to a complete newb - Does anyone have some advice for what kind of 'essential' items/tools I might need?

    ~Lizzie

    Welcome Lizzie!

'First tool purchases' is a common topic. If you search the archives, I'm sure you'll find plenty of answers. Any specific questions you have will usually be answered swiftly by the resident gurus.

Welcome to the forum. I still have the stool from school and it is still being used.

The best way to tackle any job that you are intending to complete is to research the task.

Hi Lizzie and welcome to the forum. first tools you need is some sort of saw and power drill if you are doing some renovation work. Tape measure, Level, Hammer or nail gun preferably. it depends on the work you are doing but as Woodwould mentioned, if you do a search of the forum, this has been covered many times and heaps of suggestions. Good luck with your renovations.
