Smile Hey There. Newbie from Canada

My name is Dave and I live in East Oro, Ontario, Canada.
I have been reading up on dust Collectors and overarm blade guards since I took off about 19 mm of my left thumb three weeks ago on my tablesaw.
I joined your forum for the read of the generic 2hp dust collector to be able to see the diagrams and pics.
I must say it is taking me a bit to get around the lingo, but I am fascinated by the wealth of info available here.
I'm looking forward to learning much and broadening my horizons.

G'Day & Welcome "to the Great South Land" & to a top forum "Dave".
We have quite a few "canucks" on the forum; all trying to escape the cold..lol...
[There are quite a few good articles on Dust Collectors especially by "BobL"]
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP photos with build notes.
    Enjoy the forum.
    Enjoy your woodwork.
Cheers from On Top DownUnder, crowie

PS - Sorry to hear of your accident with the thumb......hoping the healing process goes well....

    Default Welcome

Hi Dave, welcome to the forums. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do. Heaps of great info here and some special WIP's to drool over. Don't worry about our slang, it's not that we want to confuse you, just the way it is. If you want a translation just ask, we are just the same in your world. When I was in Alberta over Xmas I found a lot of language variations that I had to ask about and I'm not talking about french either.

    Cheers, from Oz. Ian

PS. sorry to hear about the thumb, hope it's healing up OK. Check this out, not cheap but I find it an excellent safety device, the 4" dust port was what triggered my initial interest. Cheers, Ian
