Default Hi, I am joining forum!

    Hi everyone.

My name is Wayne, and I have discovered this great forum in the last few days.

I am a novice, and I don't have many skills, but I hope to learn a few.

I am fixing a house that I live in. This place needs a new kitchen, real soon!

I may have some pretty good tools for someone of my level.

Lets see, I have Power tools, a circular saw, jigsaw, disc sander, drill, De walt router.

Hand tools I have most things, but probably need a few bits and pieces.

Anyhow, I have a camera, and will try to post up some threads of my progress when I start the project.

I don't want to make expensive errors as I am not rich. I also hate waste.

Please feel welcome to give me nudge in the right direction if you feel I am doing something wrong. Good advice is like gold for someone of my level.

I am looking forward to this, but I think it is not going to be easy, but very very satisfying.

I am going to read read read, and try and get some idea of a plan on how to do this. Flatpack may be good for my skills! I certainly don't expect someone to jump to my aid for everything I do! I will do some research myself first! But saying that I will need a hand from time to time, as every job is different.

I look forward to meeting some good people in here.
    See you around the forum!
    Wayne

Welcome to the forum. That's the best way to learn by doing. And always be careful when you do something not really wanting to learn by mistakes.

    Thumbs up

G'day Wayne and welcome to the shed.

You are keen, with some good tools.

Ask questions by all means. There is plenty of wisdom to be had here.

    Hi Wayne,
Having just also just done this myself I thought i would suggest if you are going to DIY kitchen installation then another possibility to consider is getting a newish second hand kitchen off Ebay. There are many pitfalls to this approach however (the primary one being it is very difficult to fit an existing kicthen into a tight space like we did at our place) and a lot of time is required to invest following ebay listings to get one that suits, but I just did it in our house and I was very happy with the result. We got a practically brand new kitchen with all appliances for the cost of new appliances alone and I think the oven had never been used! I had to pay about the same amount again in the end to get it installed but it was still a better result for the price than I could have achieved with flat packs as I would never have afforded things like Blum soft-close drawers. Just an idea to consider. It worked for me but doesn't work for everybody.
