Hi there from G Mack in Stawell Vic
Love the "for sale" posts. Just joined up so I might be able to find a bandsaw at the right price

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum ...
There are a stack members around Melbourne and cross Victoria plus the rest of the country.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork.....
Cheers crowie

WIP - Cedar desk restoration
Thanks for the warm welcome and invitation to share.
In my retirement, I'm finally getting around to getting on with this desk I began working on nearly 30 years ago.image.jpg
There were chunks missing from the turned legs and holes in the top where a bench grinder had been bolted down , worn draw runners and various other evidence of a hard life but it's starting to look like it might have been over 100 years ago.
Isn't Australian red cedar beautiful stuff? I can't wait to finish it off with french polish!
The back panel is a pine- like light coloured timber (any ideas?) which I intend to darken with some old darkened shellac that's been sitting around for years.
Thanks again- Graeme
