Thread: Hi from Marquetry

I'm originally from Qld, been here in Vic for over 20 yrs, Diesel mech by trade but have spent most of my working life operating, maintaining,modifying and building machines. Spent 4 yrs operating a tunnel boring machine in the Burnley tunnel. Another year trying to fix the water leak working with a waterproofing company. I worked for Cummins doing R&D for the fast trains that get around country Vic. (the green & purple colour scheme wasn't my idea) Took an interest in marquetry about 5 yrs ago. Before that the only time I handled wood was when I was working as a Tree lopper or when I was doing demolition. I grew up on a Cane farm in nth Qld,did my trade on 4wd tractors, since then I've pretty much drifted in and out of jobs, mostly contract work. Was married, had 3 kids, still got 2 kids with me, 16 & 19 yo lazy,messy,can't cook and I would be lost without them. The eldest 21yo moved out with a bloke (top guy) and they teach dancing at a local studio. At the moment I'm working with a company doing truck chassis modifications.
