Default Hi from Melbourne - help needed in identification

Hi, I'm in Melbourne and have been using your site for ages to get advice. Thanks.. it's been very helpful! I need more expert advice on what the hell these sort of hinges/rollers are called! Thanks in advance, Katja (please let me know if there is a better forum to put this in - I'm a bit confused)

    Hi KATJA.

    Firstly... G'day mate.

Don't know if I can help, but always happy to give an opinion.

What size are these rollers and what are they from?

glenn k indicated they are from slide doors.

If this is the case, I guess they are from the top of the door and it hangs.

I would try contacting a company called "Doric products". They also carry items branded (I think) "cowdry".

    http://www.infolink.com.au/c/Doric-Products

They manufacture and supply a huge amount of hardware along with other stuff for the window/joinery industry. Many of their products are designed to replace older product parts.

Hope it helps lead you in the right direction.

    Cheers,
    Rob.

    Thumbs up

    G'day KATJA and welcome aboard.

If they are door hangers for a sliding door they have very long shanks and I don't see any means for attaching them to the door.
That being said they certainly look as if they are meant to be hung on a rail for something to move along.

    Default Thanks!

Hi all, thanks for your replies. I know what they are for, but need to know what they are called so I can find some lighter ones. They are 78cm long and 10mm thick! They were on a shed door, but I want to get a smaller pair for a new shed, as these weigh a ton! I really like them though and want to keep them (just in case...?) - I'm sure you will all understand that! Thanks for that link, I will have a good look at their stuff. I think I will have to make a pair, as all the commercial ones are expensive/elaborate/and seem a bit pissy for a shed! Cheers, Katja. I also meant to say in the last post that this is a fantastc resource and thanks for all the times I've consulted it while lurking in the shadows!
