Thread: Hi from Steve, Albury NSW

Hi, I’m Steve from Albury NSW.
I grew up on a farm near Temora in central west NSW. I completed school and worked in shearing sheds for a few years before changing careers some 30 years ago. I currently live in Albury with my wife and 3 daughters. I have little to no woodwork experience.

I recently acquired an old wool table which is a great piece. It’s over 3m in length and 1.4 wide. Anyway, I have just started restoring it to be a dining table. I would think this table is 80-100 years old and from a Swan Hill property in northern Victoria. The lanolin from the wool has protected the table very well but it’s a nightmare to remove it after 80 odd years.
I’ll forward some pics if I can.

I’ll probably need a little advice along the way if possible and this seems to be a great area / forum to tap into.
