Default Hi everyone! A total newbie from Brisbane here

    Hey all,

my name is Tiho and I'm 34, from Brisbane.
Married, cat owner, professional programmer, but want to get into working with wood a bit. I do have a need for it at the moment, as I want to create a hang on bed for my cat, something like this:

    https://www.catcetera.nl/en/wohood-w...n-cat-bed.html

What's the best forum to ask this specific question on what kind of material is advised, plus the tools. I don't mind investing a little bit, but I want to be able to make it cheaper than 130Euros

    Thanks in advance!

    Welcome

As for a forum suggestion - just dive right into General and talk there. Be ready to answer things like how you're going to do the "hooks" given you likely won't be doing metalwork

You don't have to spend much.....I built this for my wife's cat and I purchased a lot of materials from Reverse Garbage at Woolloongabba and also used parts of pallets.
