    Welcome trapper!
    .
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

G'Day & Welcome Trapper to a top forum.
As you've already found out, so much information and so many helpful blokes & ladies.
For you bench; just get two [2] secondhand solid core doors, one for thebench top, one for a shelf underneath.
I topped mine with a sheet of 10mm CD ply.
Make a frame from some 4x2 and bolt it together.
Not fancy but a cheap option to get you started.
    Cheers, crowie

I think you might be sleeping now as the little green dot is not on next to your name. I do find that this is a great site for knowledge and fun conversations. Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum. There are plenty of pics o the forum of work benches, just do a search and you may get some ideas from those designs. Power tools are advertised in the market place here on the forum so well worth keeping an eye out on there. Ebay is another source for power tools but I only buy from someone with a good reputation and who has good feedback. Bunnings have a cheap line of power tools and have been subject to controversy as to the quality of the product but they serve a purpose.
    Reality is no background music.
