Default I'm getting back into it.

Hey everyone I'm from Sydney Australia.

Just getting back into woodworking after being out of school for a long time.

I am going to make things out of wood for my other passion which is drumming.

My Current Project involves making a storage rack for snare drums.

I got lucky at bunnings and took home some kind of curly/tiger flame hardwood at 100 x 19mm costing $2.39 a meter....seems like they don't sort out their planks.....they just shove them in a pile for sale. Let me tell you I am all too happy to go through dozens of planks to find figured grain, especially at silly prices like that !

I will post this evening of my work in progress. The planks came out really nice with a coat of danish oil, and they await a second coat for when I get home.

I guess a bit too late for that, I already did some cutting!

I'll be on the hunt for more figured woods though!

    My bad for saying "shelves"

They certainly will look good on the rack ...also nice layout for the project using Sketch-Up.
    Cheers,
    Ed
