Default Introducing myself to the forum

    Giday guys
I'm Paul and live in Sydney. I've always wanted to do more woodwork so I'm selling off my Triton gear and buying some new equipment.
I've purchased a jointer, bandsaw, drill press and a compressor.
I'm now looking at a table saw and router table.
I'm thinking of the Carba-tec MJ 2325 CT 10 inch table saw. (They are on special now) not sure what router table to buy as I think I'd like one with a lift capability but have not seen any. ( I did think that the Hafco woodmaster sliding router table looked ok)
So if there are any ideas on this I'd appreciate them
Look forward to lots of conversations on woodworking
    Cheers
    Paul Barrett

Hi Paul and welcome to the forum. The MJ is a pretty good TS I have one and find it does all the work I want to do. The fence leaves a bit to be desired but for the money it is good value.
    Reality is no background music.
    Cheers John

I picked up the router table today as well.
I look forward to my first project which is a blanket box for my eldest daughter.

    Thumbs up

G'day pgba and welcome to our collective addictions.

Remember that, as with anything, you get what you pay for. Bearing in mind Munruben's comment a few extra dollars may get you an upgraded fence.

As for a router table, I have strong views on this subject. I believe many of the available tables are over priced and not really what you need. I built my own table to a modification of Roger Gifkins design - simple and very effective at little cost to me. If you insist on having a table with a lift then build your own table and use a screw or scissor jack as a lift. Can buy scissor jacks in Big W for about $40.

I will never be the person who has everything, not when someone keeps inventing so much cool new stuff to buy.

From an early age my father taught me to wear welding gloves . "Its not to protect your hands son, its to put out the fire when u set yourself alight".
