    Default Introduction

    Hi Folks,
    background:
farming, engineering, manufacvturing, building and construction, business consultant, manufacturing, public servant and now supposedly retired I work as a volunteer community advocate, taking up issues involving the community, environment, and am especialy interested in supporting disabled, both intellectually and physically.

    Hobbies:
writing, computers, gardening, (when we have water ) and wood carving wood turning and furniture construction both full size and minatures and also toys.

Although having worked with wood, I do not consider myself as an expert and was looking for some ideas and guidance.
I thought that, having looked at some of the work produced by members, this would be a source on inspiration and help to aid me develop the necessary skills, plus chat with people of similar interests.
Oh! and by the way. If I make mistakes treat it as someone learning to navigate these forums, but please tell me so I can avoid them in the future
    regards.

G'day, perfesser. You've come to the right place, the best on the Internet, where everything is true.

    Cheers,

    Hi professor, welcome.
woodworking is a passion for the most of us, anyway better to be a bad woodworker than sitting behind the geraniums.

Hi all When I am told with a smile that something is true, I get the bag of salt out keep the pinch and add the bag. You would appreciate the comment when you know I have been writing a critique on child care funded and supported by local government. The reply I received from the earlier submission was an excellent PR exercise, lacking in substance and full of half truth.
I requested and appointment to "clarify" some issues in their document and initially it looked as if I was going to be ignored, so I went on the radio and that afternoon I was contacted seeking an appointment with me to discuss the issues Funny about that isn't it.
Well this forum is not about community affairs but about woodwork.
I have some finished woodwork projects I would like to show and receive some feedback/comments/criticism, or whatever you wish to call it.
Please, how do I go about that. After all I am a slow learner

Pretty much the same as you did the introduction (I guess) by hitting "New Thread" in an appropriate sub-forum. Select the sub-forum carefully, but a moderator can move it if necessary. Before uploading, hit "Manage Attachments" to select pictures to upload. See the FAQ's.

I've had best results, by preparing a folder on the hard drive to contain pictures and text of the first (and/or subsequent) posts. Easier to edit and organize offline beforehand, but certainly doesn't need to be dissertation quality.

BTW, blank lines add only two bytes each to the file size, and inclusion enhances screen readability..

    Cheers,
    Joe
