Reached that stage in life where I'd like to get started in woodwork. I've made some benches and other bits and pieces over the years, but keen to make some plywood furniture. Bought my first trim router a few weeks back and treated myself to a table saw yesterday. Also had a bunch of plywood delivered. Now I'm collecting some quality tools before I start some projects. I'll be asking for recommendations for hardware for cross cut sleds, router tables and the like (t-track stuff), and also for some quality (but not insanely expensive!) measuring devices. Looking forward to becoming part of the community and ready to learn. Anyone else here from Canberra?

    G'Day & Welcome to a top forum.....
There are quite a few members in Canberra and around the Southern Highlands with a stack of members in Sydney area plus the rest of the country.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
    Enjoy the forum.
    Enjoy your woodwork......
    Cheers crowie

Welcome mrkookz. There are indeed a number of forum users that are in Canberra and many of us are also members of the Woodcraft Guild ACT with its Shed in Kambah. Check us out and consider becoming a member of the Guild. We have many Special Interest Groups and members willing to assist others in all aspects of woodworking.

    Heaps of people.

90% are IT as well. IT drains the soul. Woodwork fills the cup back up.
