    Default Newb woodboy's finished project

Hi, my names dale completely new to woodworking, started about 6 months ago when I was shopping for a bookcase for my DVD's, and got one hell of a shock at how expensive a non MDF piece of furntiture is, so thought bugger it ill make one. Cost me $200 to make, would have cost $600-$800 to buy locally, and I got the satisfaction of making it myself. Pretty proud, considering I had never done any woodwork before it turned out pretty well!!

For my next project I am getting a bit adventurous have been given some big ruff sawn bits of what I am told is blackwood, that I am going to make into a low line entertainment unit. Will Start another thread for that one, as that is the main reason I joined the forum as I am such a newb will need some advice, what I originally had planned was going to be fairly simple and made from pine, but now that I have gotten my hands on some wood that i think can be turned into something special am getting way out of my league! But I will succeed!

Hi Dale and welcome. Nice work on the bookshelf, looks great. You are now truly hooked and there is no turning back.
    Reality is no background music.

Go for it. Our worst is better than anything from that swedish place. Enjoy the forum, there is a lot of expertise here to draw on.
