    Default sheoak 54

    Gidday from W.A.

I'm new , just semi retired and just about completed my first project, a jarrah toy box for the grandson to go in their living area. its come up quite nice but Im having a real problem finding some soft closing spring or pnumatic hinges to handle the lid which is 900 x 420 x 50mm thick and weighs 15 kgs. Can anyone help please.
Im also looking to buy some new equipment, new bench saw , router table and a jointer but what brand etc is starting to bog me down , any ideas to make my job easier. Thanks

    Hey Sheoak,

    Firstly welcome to the forum.

For your Lid, (It's sounds more like a Coffee Table) Have a look at Gas struts that hold open the tailgate hatches, they come in a variety of sizes, See the Trailer builders and Tray back body builders they use them all the time.

As for Tablesaws and toys, the woodshow is only a couple of weeks away, so don't buy a thing till you go there. Just about all that you could think of will be there. All the local suppliers will be there so you can compare without having to drive around all day and not get in the way of shedtime.

Welcome sheoak, I agree, I would wait for the woodshow. Plenty of goodies there.

    Thumbs up

G'day Sheoak and welcome to the show.

I think little fingers will need to be well and truly catered for with that toy box.
