IDEAL TOOLS NEWS: New Festool T-Series Drills
New Festool T-Series Drills
Festool have just released their first Lithium-Ion cordless drills. The new T-Series drills. These new drills not only feature Lithium-Ion battery technology but also include a second generation EC-TEC motor. Festool were the first manufacturer to develop and implement a brushless motor in a cordless drill, Festool's C12 drill was the first in the world. This EC-TEC technology has been further enhanced and included in the new T-Series drills.
The advantages of EC-TEC are numerous, including:
- full torque at very slow speeds (required for slow controlled driving of large diameter screws),
- automatic cutting of motor power when clutch is engaged,
- extended battery life,
- more power than conventional drill motors,
- drive more screws per charge than conventional drills,
- no maintenance required for the life of the drill (no carbon-brushes to replace).
And Festool have introduced their Lithium-Ion battery with superior drill and battery electronic 'intelligence' to ensure prolonged battery life. Not only does the drill and charger come with a 3 year warranty, so do the batteries.
Combined with the other unique features of the Festool cordless drill range (Fast-fix chucks, Centrotec accessories, compact and lightweight design) the new T-Series cordless drills are best in their class.
The new Festool T-Series cordless drills.
If anyone as any questions about the T-Series drills, feel free to email me at [email protected] or post a reply here.

That can be annoying can't it. But in the end you have one and that's the important thing.
Here is a reminder: The current Festool campaign finishes up this week. If anyone want to have a final look, look here.

Yeah I've been keeping an eye out for the courier but they just keep driving past
Hasn't had much use yet but the two or three times that I have it's been great
Also used it the other day to put some Domino Dogs in the workbench to plane some timber too
And the week before I was showing it to a friend and she was very impress with how well 2 scrap pieces of 18mm MDF joined up, she couldn't feel the joinCheers
