    Default Reuse Center

The Nillumbik Shire Coucil operates a reuse shop just up the road from me where I've picked up numerous bargains from pieces of timber to vintage tools, radios and other odds and sods. All items are rescued from tips and landfill and are dirt cheap. The guy that runs the shop makes up a price in his head when you present the items to him. This morning I picked up a very rusty stanley hand plane (no. 3 i think), a Sher power drill saw, a couple of brackets and wait for it... a very dirty 125mm square by 25mm thick lump of myrtle burl !!! When I lumped the lot on his counter he started at my booty and muttered $15. I nearly did a little wee in my pants and quickly forked out the dosh.

So, I'd like to share this place with you. Yan Yean Road, Plenty (Melbourne). Now, my question is, do you know of any reuse centres near you?

Duro Street (from memory) in North Geelong (Vic) has something similar. If you are lucky you may end up with a good score, other times you will walk away with nothing.

They were good for long neck home brew bottles which were $2 for a big box.

Much better to recycle where possible before landfill.
