Broken spring
My plans for going away at Easter with the camper tent on the trailer came unstuck when I found one side had a broken spring, not far from the rear eye. I've been trying to find replacement springs since but having trouble because the old springs were 900mm eye to eye and can't find that size readily available. If I were to change to a shorter spring (705mm seems to be readily available) would it be acceptable to weld the spring shackles onto a length of heavy angle and then bolt that onto the trailer chassis? Perhaps just the trailing eye shackle?
The other option is that someone might recommend where I could get a spring that would replace the originals?
