HI Bryan
Thanks for the welcome, I’m working on quality not quantity..
The tipper in the photos is a very simple and clean design I like it very easy to make
If by support you mean when it’s tipping it just hits the ground when tipped and drags along the ground when it empty’s and depending on the balance drops down when empty or stays up until its closed.
Going by the photos I would say they have the fulcrum is forward of the body centre so it drops open and the large pin on the second cross member l is used to locks it shut.
Imo, its best to have the centre of the body to be front heavy just in case something gets forgotten, the front lifting handle acts as a lever, and when empty shuts itself and if you use a spring bolt 7/10 time lock shut. I had had a tipper for 20 years set up like that and found it very easy to use only got rid of the trailer when we moved out west 4 years ago.
Cheer
Tony

Don`t suppose running a 12V geared motor (ala boat winch/cable) would suffice? Trailer battery could be wired into 7 pin plug to allow charging whilst driving?

If ya thinking about electric boat winches ....... a hand winch would be faster ........ electric boat winches require a very solid electrical supply and just sound pittifull if they are undersupplied.
I see people with electric boat winces at the boat ramp. ......... I wound up and gone while they are still GERRR RRRR RRRR and not getting far.
Best option for a powered lift is exhaust power.
cheersAny thing with sharp teeth eats meat.
Most powertools have sharp teeth.
People are made of meat.
Abrasives can be just as dangerous as a blade.....and 10 times more painfull.
