Hi,
Here are some links
the first one being an aussie site that supplies flat pack kits.
Others are yank references for plans and discussion of teardrops.

YOU'RE ALL BUGGERS!!!
Ever since Timbo put up the question, and you other sods replied with plenty of great information, all I can think of is Teardrop Caravans!! I think I may have found what to do with the chassis I started over 2-1/2 years ago (jees, has it been that long...?).
So... how much more interest is there in these?
Has anyone built one?
I know where to get all the Caravan fittings, but can you get 8'x5' sized sheets of Marine Ply?
And I'm still intrigued as to how you keep the rear kitchen section completely weatherproof.Too many projects, so little time, even less money! Are you a registered member? Although it's not a teardrop, I rather like this one.
The flyscreen sides fold down and it looks like you could use it to sleep under the stars when it's dry, by not putting the roof up, but still be mossie and fly free.

Re large marine ply – just join it together.. never done it myself but I am sure there is a thread here about it.
Where are you going to put the insulation? I was thinking of using some 25mm marine ply then cutting it out into a frame pattern (making it lighter) then filling in the gaps with insulation and then lining it with fibreglass sheeting on the outside and 3 ply inside….
Re – keeping the water out. I think heaps of guttering and seels should do the trick.
I have scanned in a copy of my quick kitchen table sketch.. not sure if it would really work, this shows the frame cut out - this would then be lined.
Yonnee-- so where do you buy all the suff from? (excluding the trailer relaited stuff)

After I posted that question, I read about another Teardrop build that only bothered to use Structural Ply rather than Marine Ply, as Structural Ply was cheaper but still weather proof, whereas Marine Ply is designed for total water immersion, which hopefully we shouldn't have to contend with.

I haven't got that far yet. I've seen a heap that batten up and around the front and roof and then fill the cavity with wall batt insulation, but the sides seem to vary from nothing, to polystyrene, to wall batts. I'm probably going to see what's available at what cost and go from there.
Re – keeping the water out. I think heaps of guttering and seals should do the trick.
I'm thinking that wouldn't be too difficult with some of the door designs where it wraps right around to the bottom of the rear, but some I've seen where the rear door stops a foot or so up from the bottom (rear valance panel), it'd want to have some good seals. Maybe an overlap of the door to the valance might do the trick...

That's going to need to be a fairly large "Teardrop" with a bed and bunks.

So you'd do without the rear kitchen and just make a mobile bedroom?
