Ol mate down the road asked me to make him a small trailer Texas style, it's what the Yanks use as box trailers i.e wood floors , iron frame , very simple but the difference is these trailers will last forever compared to a typical Oz box trailer which will suffer rustout if not looked after. I suggested go buy one from the shop but appears as though no one makes these types of trailers, and the local trailer makers were not really interested in doing it for him.

It will 50x50x3mm angle chassis frame and drawbar and treated 200x50 pine floor boards, 17 inch wheels , the top and ramp will be 50x50x3 angle , non braked 750kg GVM. The only thing that worries me is the frame warping and bowing when its welded. I've got an old axle with hubs , lights , left over paint , coupling and wheels in the back yard so that will help reduce costs. The budget is $450 all said and done. I am going to vinnies to see if i can find and old bed to use as the frame before i order the steel. I reakon there is approx 40hrs worth of work in it.

A pic of what it should look like when finished ;
