Default Need a Tongue\Ball Rest pls...

    Hi folks,

I'm wondering if someone may point me in the right direction where i may find a suitable ball rest\Tongue pls?
I have the towbar already fitted. I ended up getting a 2nd hand ball rest from a wreckers and even though it fits the towbar, it wouldn't be compatiable with any trailer hitch as it sits too high or doesn't have the bend where it is supposed to be. I know i got to modify the rear bumper to accommodate the rest and reposition the number plate. See pic of vehicle.

    Thanx,
    Woodyknot

    ...Oh, I get it.

For your tow bar tongue, there should be a plate welded to the tow bar itself that states the manufacturers name. From there we/you can start chasing if a tongue's available. There were enough KB Rodeos around that with the correct tongue, you shouldn't have to modify the bumper.

A quick Yellow Pages search found these guys; Armidale Automotive Accessories

Failing that, universal flat tongues are available in various lengths that have the towball hole at one end, and one mounting hole drilled in the other. An engineering shop should be able to cold bend the shape you require and drill the other hole to match the ones in the tow bar.

Actually, now I think about it, I can't remember too many KB's with a rear bumper... so you might have to get one fabricated to suit.

Hi Yonnee, thanx for ur input. I'll look up those folks at the auto place u posted. Parts for the KB 28 are not very common here in oz land however i have seen "backyard" modifications to the rear bumper to allow one to tow something but can't recall where the number plate was repositioned at the time.
I'll look into the ball rest but if it cost too much to get one, well more than i paid for the ute ($500) i'll give it a miss. In fact why would i need a trailer when the tub is 7ft x 5ft
A tinnie or small water craft would almost sit in or on the back of the truck by way of a rack.
Cheers again and thnx to all,
