I love camping, my Boss doesn't. Also I'm getting a bit stiff and I can no longer get a decent nights sleep on the ground.
If I can get my welding to a decent standard I might have a crack at making a camper trailer.
Mainly because there is nothing around that suits our particular needs, all the campers are side fold and my beloved has MS and can't climb a ladder at all.
Partly balance and muscle weakness and partly fear of falling.

So now that I've explained the background here is the real question.
Should I think about an integral trailer or is having a chassis and a detachable body the best way to go?

What we want is a centre fold camper so that we have a bed ledge on either side of the well, similar to and taking inspiration from the old Petersville camper I owned in another life.
So make the chassis and the deck separately and bolt one to the other as we do with truck bodies; using rubber isolating washers and strong bolts
