Do you see love and harmony? No
Do you see world peace? No
Do you find inspiration? No

I like the top, but the legs don't do it justice IMO. They are too restrained, and lack stability somehow.... need to be bigger, curvier, more presence so as to match the top.
Good luck with the showAndy Mac

Claw,
Anyone who says that is not art just does not understand what art is!
Compared to some "art" I have seen in galleries that is quite conserveative. At least it looks like a stool. Willing to have a go is the main thing so good luck with the exhibition.
You will also have to come up with an arty name for it.
Regards
John

Wasn't it George Orwell who said..."four legs bad..three legs good" ...(sorry).
I reckon the four legs make it look a bit busy in the underneath.
And I'd go with Andy Mac too..but with three legs.

Wow, it has at least fired up a few opinions if nothing else. I think it might be art.
I feel the photos are not doing it justice and I'm not quite sure how I could take them to convey how it looks. I have taken another couple with the oil on. I took it to the gallery today (setting up ready for Friday opening) and everyone even TH went nuts over it. I think it will be the first piece to sell (I hope) Even I am very happy with it for such a minimal piece. Sorry I can't get the look accross to you guys. Never mind but due to the controversial posts I will call it art

Oh and there is the next arty farty piece underneath, a mango table. Could be a small dining table or a small writing desk, also to go in the show, by Friday.
I was going to do another leaf table (smaller than last time) but THs Mexican family trip took 4 days from my build time so now I have to do these couple of quickies

I don't hate it, I just dislike it intensely. I'd call it art
Cheers

I like the hint of carving in it that makes it seem like ones bottom is supposed to be placed there. Wish I was close enough to see it in person.

Just a hint TL, I have sat on a few chairs etc with carved seats only to find things don't fit in their intended or alotted areas.
I will take some more pics when I go to the gallery, TH has taken it over tonight while they fine tune the exhibition. (I stay out of that, too many cooks .......)
